It's beginning to look like Christmas

We love this Christmas tree and the ornaments we have collected over the years. Our most favorite ornaments are those that remind us of our children and the memories we have of Christmas' past.
You'll be home for Christmas if only in "our" dreams! We love hanging these stockings and remembering Christmas pasts when our children were here.
Here is a picture of our house decorated with Christmas lights for this year. We received a big snowstorm in November but it all melted as we have had wonderful (too good) weather for too long. We are looking for snow (not too much in the valley).
We had family night with Rory and Tim's family and made Gingerbread houses. They are a lot of fun. My personal favorites are the ones that have the most candy!
It is a family affair! It takes a family to make a gingerbread house.
This is Rory and Katie's first Christmas making a gingerbread house together.
Andrew usually eats as much candy while making the gingerbreadhouse as he actually puts on his house.
Emily is an artist when it comes to decorating trees!
Here is the Tim Shaw happy family creating gingerbread houses!
This is a good looking gingerbread house. We wuill enjoy eating it on Christmas Day!
We wish each of you a Merry Christmas. Just a reminder, Grandma Shaw's Christmas party is this Saturday,  December 8, at the Payson church. We hope that those coming could be there at 3 pm to help set up the tables and chairs. Love you all.

Hot Dog and Mallow Roast

It was a fun time cooking hot dogs (Hebrew National) over a roaring fire. The fire did burn down and we had wonderful coals to roast the marshmallows. It was  a nice afternoon for a Family Night activity up Payson Canyon. All the leaves in the picnic area had fallen from the trees and it was fun walking and running through them.
Bruce and his family was there and made the event even more memorable. The more the merrier!

Rory and Katie were also there. Hot dogs just tast better if roasted on an open fire.
Kelly and Emily have really grown up.

It was fun. We wish all of you could have been there.

Fall Break October 11-13 2012

We rode from West Yellowstone, Montana to Big Springs, Idaho. It is a beautiful and scenic ride.
Big Springs, Idaho area.

Our friend, the muskrat.
Large fish use this area to spawn year round.

The willows turn a reddish hue in the fall. This is on the way to Black Sands.
A distant view of Lion Head mountain.
The next day we drove into the park and enjoyed the sights.

 Old Faithful
It was a beautiful day inside the park.
Elk walking alongside the highway.

Family Night up Payson Canyon

The colors in Payson canyon are beautiful as the leaves turn yellow and red.

We are allowed to have fires again in fire rings in campgrounds.
Emily made her own hot dog cooker in school. Looks good, right?
It is still fun to roast marshmallows over the coals.
Mallows, anyone?
 S'mores do taste fine!
There are a lot of deer up the canyon.
We counted more than 40 going up to Blackhawk Campground and back.
