Touring Chicago

The view is always better at the top. Here we are at the top floor of the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower building and tallest building in the world when it was completed in 1973) standing outside the building on the skydeck looking straight down over 100 stories. Mom couldn't look down.
Here is a picture of the city skyline and Lake Michigan taken from the Willis Tower building.
The ledge they are standing on is actually clear plastic and you can look down to the street below your feet.
Behold the streets of Chicago from 100+ stories high.
We took the water taxi from the Willis Tower to the Navy Pier which is a famous amusement park and restaurant district in Chicago.
It was a very cool day in Chicago. It was 57 degrees with a brisk wind at 4:19 in the afternoon.
The Chicago skyscrapers are amazing. It was very enjoyable to ride up and down the river and view the different types of buildings and see all the people going places.
The Navy Pier has a beautiful lighthouse and scenic vistas.
More pictures for the city skyline.
Cybil has a beautiful home and was very gracious and hospitable to us. Thank you and Jason for making our stay in Chicago so fun!

Talia has Arrived!

Here is the newest addition to the Shaw Family. This is grandchild number 15. All of my children are uncles and aunts many times over.
Isn't Talia cute when she yawns? She is very tired.
Happy is mom for the arrival of her first baby.
Here are two happy grandparents. This baby is really cute!
Landon is a very proud dad!
Landon loves showing off his new daughter!
Emily is excited to be an aunt again for the 15th time!
I think Rory could get into this Dad thing. He really seems to like babies.
It was nice Katie could be be here with us tonight also.
Talia weighed 6 lbs. 2 ounces and was born at 1:11 a.m. on May 23, 2012
She has beautiful dark hair. Everyone thinks she looks like Landon when he was a baby.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers and future moms!
We gathered together on Sunday evening for dinner and to commemorate Mother's Day.
Tim and Janet's family, Rory and Katie, Landon and Sidney and Emily were there on Sunday. Andrew left earlier in the day to go back to school at BYU-Idaho.
Dessert was great. We had angel food cake covered with strawberries and whipping cream, brownies and ice cream.
Tim loves his angel food cake. Janet loves her Tim.
Flowers sent by Ashley and Brandt.
Here are flowers from Landon and Sydney. Mom also received other thoughtful gifts and phone calls from her family for which she is very grateful.
