Spring Break Part Two - Southern Utah

Emily always wanted to climb a volcano. Here we go!

We met a friend along the way. He was very patient as he posed for his photograph.

The trail kept winding around the side of the mountain. It was the round-about way to get to the top.

We made it and now could look down into the crater of the cinder cone.

pon the way back to the car, Mom had to stop and pick Brigham Tea. Check out all the medicinal benefits on-line.

We also stopped by the Mountain Meadows Massacre Memorial. This is a relatively new cite the chuirch paid for and maintains.

This placard is on the base of the Memorial

Here we are at Cove Fort.

We took the tour and it is worthwhile visiting this historical site.

The view from on top of the fort. This was a good defensive position to protect the pioneers from unfriendly attacks.
